Our annual Bowl-A-Thon is rapidly approaching. I wanted to take some time to encourage each of you to fully participate in this great event. With this fundraiser, we have an opportunity to reach many lives. With the proceeds of this awesome event, we cater to our community. Providing eye exams to our community children in need, to providing eye glasses for those same children, to lending a helping hand to our local educators through mini grants, or to provide weekly trips for the blind to the Los Angeles Braille Institute; we reach our community. We want to continue our reaching and show our community that we are here and we stand strong. Lions Club International is the largest service organization in the world! Our piece of this world is here. Please join me, your fellow Lions, Pomona Teachers, our youth, local businesses, civic leaders and fellow community members as we aim to take care of "our piece of this world".
Additionally, if your company does any type of matching of funds, please submit the proper documentation to further help the organization and community. If you know of a group that may want to have a team, invite them to join us. This year the goal of the Fundraising Committee is $12,000 and I am sure that with your support, we will surpass this goal.
Additionally, we will have a silent auction on the evening of the event. We are currently seeking donations for the silent auction. If you have a specialty your can offer or have product that would further assist our fundraising goal, please contact me and we can make arrangements. We will also need volunteers on the day of the event. Please let me know that I can count on you, if even for just an hour.
Our event has been calendared for Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 4:30pm (2:30 for youth). Attached are related Bowl-A-Thon flyers & forms for family and friends both near and far.
I look forward to hearing from you, together we can discuss how to further the success of this great event.
