Man Charged in Girlfriend's 2011 Shooting Death

POMONA, CA - A 39-year-old man is jailed on a murder charge for allegedly killing his girlfriend, whose body was dumped in Hacienda Heights five years ago.
Francisco Nila Rojas is accused of shooting the woman in the head on Feb. 11, 2011, and leaving her body near Turnbull Canyon Road and Skyline Drive, according to Deputy District Attorney Babette Huley.
Her remains were discovered less than a month later. She is listed in the complaint as "Jane Doe."

Rojas was located in Mexico last October and extradited to the United States. He is due back in a Pomona courtroom June 23, when a date is scheduled to be set for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to require him to stand trial.
If convicted as charged, Rojas could face up to 50 years to life in state prison.
