Man Dies in Area Crash

A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning in West Covina.

It happened just after 9 a.m. on Francisquito Avenue near Sunset Avenue, said a West Covina police dispatcher.

The victim, a man possibly in his mid-40s, died at the scene, according to CBS2, which reported that the car he was driving plowed through a brick wall and then slammed into a tree.

Speed appears to have been a factor in the crash, investigators told the station.
