Man Run Over by Bus in Pomona Dies

POMONA, CA - An 88-year-old man who was run over by a public bus Friday morning has died, Pomona Police Department officials said.

The bus was traveling northbound on Reservoir Street, approaching a transit stop north of Phillips Boulevard, when the man tripped and fell into the roadway, suffering fatal injuries from the bus tires, according to Cpl. Alyssa Bostrom.

Pomona police officers responded about 10 a.m., and the Los Angeles County Fire Department declared the man dead at the scene.

The bus driver was properly licensed and showed no signs of intoxication, Bostrom said.
