One Hurt After Being Struck by Union Pacific Freight Train

POMONA, CA - A Union Pacific freight train struck someone on the tracks today in Pomona, causing temporary delays on Metrolink's 411 line between Riverside and Los Angeles, authorities said.

Shortly before 3 p.m., an unidentified person hit on the tracks was taken to a local hospital, Metrolink spokesman Scott Johnson told City News Service.

The extent of the victim's injuries was not immediately known, Johnson said.

Passengers on the line experienced about an hour delay, with some slight delays expected through the early evening, Johnson said.
