Tai Ji Men Receives Warm Welcomes by Mayors of Walnut, Arcadia, and Rosemead

The mayors spoke highly of the cultural exchange program and the spirit of love and peace behind the performances.

Tai Ji Men Cultural Goodwill Group is touring in the United States. More than 400 Tai Ji Men dizi (members) visited Los Angeles on September 14 and received warm welcomes. On September 15, the mayors of Arcadia, Walnut, and Rosemead received representatives of the group, composed of about 20 people including tech experts, lawyers, medical doctors, and youth leaders. They shared with the mayors their achievements of cultural exchanges and global endeavors of love and peace.
Tom Beck, mayor of Arcadia, received the group in the Arcadia City Hall and showed the group around the council chamber and explained how a council meeting was conducted. The group shared with the mayor about the 50th anniversary celebration of Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy on September 16 in the Arcadia Performing Arts Center. The event was fully booked, and ABC News would cover the jubilant event on TV. Tom Beck presented a certificate of recognition in celebration of Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy’s 50th anniversary and said that it would be a wonderful evening. Tai Ji Men dizi shared with the mayor their achievements of peace endeavors around the world.
A day after 911 attack in New York, Tai Ji Men organized a ceremony of ringing the Bell of World Peace and Love to comfort the hearts of people. Even at the heightened risk of terrorist attacks, Tai Ji Men still insisted in going to Hawaii for cultural exchanges and held a bell-ringing ceremony as they had promised. Tom Beck was very happy and admired their love and peace work. He and Tai Ji Men representatives made the hand gesture of An Era of Conscience to spread love and peace together.
Eric Ching, a Chinese American and the mayor of Walnut, was very happy to receive the group. The Los Angeles branch of Tai Ji Men is located in Walnut. Eric appreciates Tai Ji Men’s efforts and said, “the contributions you made in the community and the achievements of spreading love, harmony, and solidarity around the world. I know you have made great contributions both in Walnut and around the world.” He presented a certificate of recognition in celebration of Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy’s 50th anniversary and appreciated Tai Ji Men for promoting cultural exchanges and spreading love and peace. Eric also unfolded the “Tai Ji fan,” symbolizing spreading goodness.
Sandra Armenta, mayor of Rosemead, was looking forward to participating in the celebration. She said, “Rosemead is a culturally-diverse city and is putting ideas of love and peace in the educational system. We have to let the children know that they have to love themselves. When they know how to love themselves, they can then spread the love to the world.”
The group presented certificates of appreciation to the mayors in appreciation of the support received from the city governments. The mayors spoke highly of the cultural exchange program and the spirit of love and peace behind the performances. They hope that Tai Ji Men will continue to deliver the energy of kindness and bring more love and peace to this nation of rich ethnic diversity.
