Victim Killed by Freight Train in Industry ID'd as Walnut Man
Dan Lin, 46, of Walnut, was walking on the tracks when he was struck Saturday.

INDUSTRY, CA - The man who died when he was struck by a freight train in Industry Saturday was publicly identified Sunday by the Los Angeles Country coroner's office.
Dan Lin, 46, of Walnut, was struck about 6 a.m. Saturday by a Union Pacific train near the 800 block of Lemon Avenue, according to a watch sergeant at the sheriff's Industry Station.
The train's conductor saw Lin walking on the tracks, which led to the train's horn being sounded and its brakes applied, but to no avail, the sergeant said.

Lin was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
