3-Alarm Fire Destroys $450K Home In Suisun City

The residents were not at home, and neighbors rescued the family pets.

A three-alarm fire Tuesday in Suisun City destroyed a single-family home worth about $450,000, fire officials said. The fire started at about 4:10 p.m. in the 1000 block of Driftwood Court near Crystal Middle School.

No one was injured and neighbors were able to rescue the family’s pets, Suisun City Fire Chief Michael O’Brien said. The owners of the home were away at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but fire officials do not suspect arson, O’Brien said.

Firefighters have ruled out Christmas lights and a Christmas tree and the usual causes such as food on the stove and a gas leak, he said. Firefighters responded and had the fire under control in about two hours, O’Brien said.
