$91K In Grants Awarded To Solano County Education Office

Superintendent Lisette Estrella-Henderson said the grants will help support students.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA – The Solano County Office of Education recently received two grants to support area students.

A $50,000 county-wide grant from the California Scale-Up Multi-Tiered System of Supports Statewide Initiative focuses on supporting local education agencies in creating an integrated, comprehensive and differentiated system to address the needs of all students, the office said.

“This is an opportunity for our educators to collaborate county-wide and align instructional, behavioral, and social-emotional strategies to serve the whole child,"said Lisette Estrella-Henderson, Solano County Superintendent of Schools. "Through training and consultation, the Solano County Office of Education will collaborate with local school districts and assist in establishing sustainable changes to improve student outcomes.”

SCOE also received a grant from Kaiser Permanente’s Northern California Community Benefits Program for $41,032 to support the Vallejo City Unified School District Partnership for Suicide Awareness and Prevention. Kaiser Permanente identified the Partnership as a priority to address the community issue, the district said.

“We are excited to have this opportunity that will allow us to provide additional services for our students through education and prevention. We are looking forward to working with Vallejo City Unified School District in this endeavor,” Estrella-Henderson said.
