Boys Basketball: Rams Win 8th Straight Game Tuesday Night

Dixon wins it's GEL opener over West Campus 76-45

Michael Tomelloso's 20 points helped the basketball team cruise to a 76-45 victory over West Campus in its Golden Empire League opener on Tuesday night.

The Rams (13-5, 1-0 GEL) pulled out to a 45-17 lead at the half and never looked back. Bryan Hollowell had 17 points and eight rebounds.

On Saturday night, the Rams defeated Winters in their final non-league contest 78-56. Alfonso Hernandez led Dixon with 17 points. Jake Moraes had 14 and Jeffrey Miner 13.

Coach Sam Harrison said the Rams just kept coming at the Warriors.

"They couldn’t stop our pressure," he said. "Our up-tempo defense, they just couldn’t handle it."

Harrison is focused on the big picture, however.

"It’s not the short run, it’s the long run," he said. "It’s what we can do and how we can do it, and that’s to reach the playoffs."
