CHP Looking For Driver Of Motorcycle That Caught On Fire On I-80

A motorcycle fire briefly closed a lane on Interstate Highway 80 in Vacaville this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers responded to a report of a fire on westbound Interstate Highway 80 west of Davis Street shortly before 9:30 a.m., CHP officials said.

It appears the driver of the motorcycle crashed the vehicle into the center divide, CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.

Officers are looking for the motorcyclist, the sole passenger on the vehicle, who apparently fled the scene, Anderson said.

A Sig-alert was issued at 9:42 a.m. the lane reopened shortly before 10 a.m., according to the CHP.
