Coroner IDs Pedestrian Killed In I-80 Hit-And-Run

VACAVILLE, CA — The Solano County coroner's office has identified Matthew Yu, 37, as the pedestrian who was killed Sunday morning when a vehicle struck him on eastbound Interstate Highway 80 in Vacaville. The vehicle that struck Yu left the scene of the collision that occurred around 5:10 a.m. west of Weber Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The vehicle and Yu were in the No. 3 lane of eastbound Highway 80 when the collision occurred. There are no descriptions of the vehicle from witnesses, CHP Officer David Harvey said.

Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call the CHP at 707-328-2100 or 1-800-835-5247.

It was one of two fatalities involving pedestrians on I-80 this week.
