DHS Cross Country: Varsity Boys and Girls Capture GEL Titles.
Boys sweep top six to cruise into sub-section meet this Saturday.

The Dixon High boys and girls varsity cross country teams swept all three league meets this season enroute to both capturing the Golden Empire League title.
The Rams boys and girls won both league center meets this season and the league championship last Thursday enroute to cruising to their titles.
The boys swept the top six spots of their meet. Anthony McDermott led the Rams and pack, clinching the GEL MVP title with a first-place finishing time of 16:43. Coy Chance finished second with a time of 17:05 and Gonzalo Morales-Lomeli-finished third with a time of 17:35.

Chris Luney was fourth with a time of 17:49. Cody Franchesi crossed the line fifth in 18:20 and Eric Burton finished sixth in 18:32.
All six boys along with Connor Houston and Marcos Torres earned All-GEL honors for the season.

The boys earned the lowest score possible in a cross country race. Earning 15 points, the full amount available in a cross country race, by finishing five runners in the top five. Ten of the boys' 11 runners finished in the top 10.
For the girls, Viridiana Munoz was second in a time of 20:55. Jessica Hein was third in 21:18 and Rebecca Immel was fifth in 22:21. Adriana Scholten finished ninth with a time of 24:58. All four girls earned All-GEL honors.
Both teams will run at the Sac-Joaquin Section sub-section meet at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds this Saturday.
