DHS JV Football: Rams Capture Second-Straight GEL Title, Downing Capital Christian 28-0
Dixon rolls with touchdowns in third and fourth quarters to seal league championship.
The JV football team clinched its second-straight GEL title with a 28-0 victory over Capital Christian Friday night.
"It's fantastic. Two years in a row, both 5-0 in league," Rams coach Troy Hensley said.
Kyle Riley connected with Chad Baptiste for a 64-yard touchdown pass to put the Rams up 21-0 midway through the third quarter. Kyle Riley's 36-yard TD run early in the fourth sealed the championship.

"Friday night is what it's all about," Hensley said. "It's all I've ever wanted to do. I hope to continue to keep doing it."
Hensley said it took a lot of work to turn the team from 12 kids at spring camp at Sacramento State to 29 on the main roster at the end of the year.

"It probably doesn't appear that way on the scoreboard, but there was actually a lot of challenges because we had to teach a lot of kids how to play the game of football," he said.
Hensley said he wants to stay here in Dixon.
"I love the town and I love the people," he said. "I want to build something great. I don't think were anywhere close to where we want to be. That upper-echelon type of school year in and year out. I want them to fear us when they walk in here. I want to league to know who we are, and I want everyone to have a great experience when they come here
