Dixon Business License Renewals Due in January

From the City of Dixon:

Requirements

• Anyone conducting business within the City of Dixon needs a current business license.
• Business locations must be a physical address. No post office boxes are allowed within the city limits.
• Some businesses are not allowed in certain zones or may require special approval.

Completing the Business License
Business license applications can be obtained online or through City Hall.

Veteran’s Exemption - Ordinance 10-002

You must also fill out the Hazardous Materials and Air Pollution Survey and the Worker’s Compensation Declaration forms included in the application. Once you have completed the application return it to City Hall with a check for the appropriate fees.

Processing
Finance will process your application in approximately 30 days. Once the application is processed, the business license will be mailed to your business location.

Business Resources

The State Board of Equalization has announced a new Electronic Registration system, aka eReg, effective June 18, 2012.

Home Occupation Permits
Any Dixon business that does not have a commercial storefront, office, or industrial location is considered a home-based business and therefore requires a home occupation permit.

There is a one-time $150 application fee for the permit and it must be submitted with the Home Occupation Permit Application.
