Two other Dixon residents were airlifted to hospitals.

A Dixon man was killed Sunday morning when he was ejected from a vehicle on a rural fire road in unincorporated Solano County northwest of Vacaville, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Solano County coroner’s office identified the man as 71-year-old Stephen Walter Hoffman.
Hoffman was driving a 1968 Toyota Land Cruiser around 9 a.m. near Pleasants Valley Road when it lost traction down a steep grade, CHP officials said.

Hoffman, along with a 45-year-old Dixon man and an 8-year-old Dixon boy, were deer hunting when the crash occurred. All three were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the Land Cruiser, which overturned several times, according to the CHP.
The 45-year-old man and the boy suffered moderate injuries and one of the two injured occupants called the CHP on a cellphone.
