This year’s event will feature a full day of fun, entertainment, food, and community spirit as we come together to celebrate one of the most meaningful holidays of the year in a big way.
"Enjoy a lively lineup of food trucks, carnival rides, community performances, a live concert, and a spectacular fireworks show to close out the night. The celebration will run from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with carnival rides and vendors open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., community acts taking the stage from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and fireworks lighting up the sky from 9:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
"We’re excited to welcome this year’s featured musical acts: Pop Rocks, West Coast Strut, and Vixen Strut. These performances will bring high-energy entertainment and help set the tone for a festive day at the waterfront. Dixon Community Youth Theater is thrilled to announce auditions for The Addams Family Musical Young@Part®, a delightfully spooky musical comedy based on the beloved characters created by Charles Addams. Young performers ages 8–18 are invited to join the Addams family and bring this hilarious, heartwarming, and wonderfully weird story to life on stage.
Featuring music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, the show follows Wednesday Addams as she falls in love with a “normal” boy and introduces his family to her delightfully eccentric clan.&nbsp;
Directed by Kelly Pidgeon James, with assistance from Stevie Carr and choreography by Isabelle Reeder, this production provides young performers the opportunity to build acting, singing, dancing, teamwork, and confidence skills while creating lasting friendships.
Auditions will be held July 12-14, and on July 19th with callbacks on Monday July 20th &amp; Tuesday July 21st, 2026, at Dixon High School Room D302. Rehearsals begin the first week of August, with performances scheduled for October 9–11 and October 16–18, 2026.
No previous theater experience is required, and performers of all experience levels are encouraged to audition.
