Fairfield Homicide Update: Man Shot, Killed Was Only 19
A man and a girl who took the victim to the hospital are considered witnesses to the homicide, police said.

A 19-year-old man killed in a shooting on Wednesday night in Fairfield was identified as Aaron Malave, police said Friday.
Officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim who arrived at NorthBay Medical Center at about 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, police said. Arriving officers found the victim, later identified as Malave, who was pronounced dead, according to police.
A man and a girl who took Malave to the hospital are considered witnesses to the homicide, police said. About 10 minutes before Malave reached the hospital, police dispatch received reports of gunshots heard in the area of the 1000 block of Wood Hollow Circle.

Responding officers found evidence at the scene connected with the homicide, police said.
Investigators also identified a home in the 1000 block of Wood Hollow Circle linked to the homicide investigation and made contact with six adults and a juvenile in the home, police said.

Police believe Malave was shot on a street in the block. No arrests were made as of Friday in the homicide, police said.
