Fairfield Man Killed In New Year's Eve Crash ID'd
The victim was rear-ended in the afternoon on westbound I-80.

A Fairfield man was killed Wednesday afternoon in a collision on Interstate Highway 80 in Vacaville, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened in the westbound lanes of I-80 just west of Leisure Town Road about 3:15 p.m., CHP officials said.
A 2014 Chevy Malibu driven by Jon Allen Spieger, 58, of Vacaville rear-ended a 1988 Honda Prelude driven by Edward Troske, 53, of Fairfield. Both vehicles sustained major damage.

Troske was taken to Kaiser Hospital in Vacaville and succumbed to internal injuries while undergoing treatment about 5:15 p.m. for what had initially appeared to be minor injuries, according to the CHP.

Spieger was not injured.
CHP officials said neither driver appeared to be impaired by alcohol or drugs during the crash.
