Former CHP Sergeant Gets Prison Time For Child Porn
Eric Lund, a former sergeant for California Highway Patrol Solano Area, received the maximum sentence.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA β A former Solano County California Highway Patrol officer convicted in October 2018 of possession of child pornography was sentenced Wednesday in Solano County Superior Court to five years in prison.
Former CHP Officer Eric Lund received the maximum sentence, the office of Solano County District Attorney Krishna Abrams said in a statement Wednesday afternoon.
A jury convicted Lund Oct. 30, 2018 in connection with the charges going back more than four years. Prosecutors said between June 2014 and October 2014, Lund, while working graveyard shift as a sergeant for CHP Solano Area, downloaded thousands of child porn files and shared the images with more than 10,000 other computer users.

Vacaville police Detective Datzman conducted the investigation and the case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Illana Shapiro.
Prosecutors said multiple electronic devices containing child porn were recovered by Vacaville police in a search of Lund's car as well as his desk and locker at the local CHP Office.

Lund worked in the Fairfield CHP office in 2013 and 2014. He was with the CHP 26 years at the time and worked in Chico before Fairfield.
A spokeswoman for the statewide law enforcement agency told Patch CHP had no comment on Lund's case or his sentencing.
