Harry Potter Flies into Box Offices, Works His Magic
An inside guide into Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1

For the past decade audiences globally have become entranced by the J.K. Rowling inspired series Harry Potter. Harry has become a household name, and each movie that accompanies a book becomes an instant classic.
It comes as no surprise that this weekends release Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 was once again another hit. However, without revealing too much this film does little to follow the patterns of the previous films.
It is safe to say that there are dramatic differences between this two-hour, 30-minute long adventure and previous Potters.. Since the majority of the plot line in the first half of the book was to set up the second half of the book, it is not a surprise that the movie would follow the same pattern. However, this may leave a little to be desired for those of us accustomed to Hogwarts' professors and the limited appearances of Harry's nemesis, Voldemorte.

The film does not return to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as one would expect and Voldemorte is all over the place. There was the familiar House of Weasley, balanced with picturesque images of London and outlying areas of Great Britain. However, if familiarity is what you are looking for be prepared for a change since it is too dangerous for Harry, Ron, and Hermione to return to any familiar destination.
Additionally, it is apparent that Harry is growing in age and interest. However, from one reporter's point of view, Hollywood's need to push the envelope may have been taken a pinch too far in this interpretation of the book.

Graphic imagery as well as a visible violent undertones were not watered down for younger audiences. Therefore, my advice for parents of young children would be to perhaps to seek advice from other parents on the age appropriateness for any child under the age of 10.
It is true that the majority of the movie was spent setting up the next film. However, it does not lack in intensity or the occasional wizard fight. It is clear that this part one of "The Deathly Hallows" is the evolution not only of Harry Potter himself, but also the plot line and explaining gaps about the wizard world that may have been previously left out. Therefore it is a whole lot of information in what some would say too long a time.
As a result, it is my honest belief that this film will entice a certain audience and disappoint or lose interest for others. Nevertheless Part 2 of "The Deathly Hallows" will certainly be one not to miss. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 is still worth the $10.50 that it would cost for admission, but may not be as riveting as previous films. Make sure popcorn is accompanied by coffee.
