BREAKING: Solano County jurors found Alijondro Jones guilty Thursday of first-degree murder.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA β A Solano County jury convicted a Vacaville man Thursday of a first-degree murder for shooting a high school student in the head during a marijuana deal in 2014. Alijondro Jones, 23, shot Demetrious Ward, 18, a Vacaville High School student, in a parking lot of the Canyon Creek Apartments at 159 Aegean Way in Vacaville on Oct. 6, 2014.
Ward had dropped off his former girlfriend and was waiting for her to return to sell her a bag of marijuana, the Solano County District attorney's Office said in a news release. Instead, Ward's former girlfriend conspired with Jones and Kai Hughes to rob Ward, the District Attorney's Office said.
Ward was shot in the head during the robbery and died three hours later in a hospital.
