Man Found Shot After Fight in Convenience Store

The Vallejo resident got into a fight with employees and threatened to shoot them. A short time later he was found with a gunshot wound.

A man was shot after a brawl with employees of a Fairfield convenience store on Monday night, police said Tuesday.

The 40-year-old Vallejo resident got into a fight with employees in a business in the 1300 block of West Texas Street shortly before 9:45 p.m., according to police.

He pushed one employee and tried to punch another. One of the employees hit him and he walked out of the store, reached into his jacket and threatened to shoot the employees, police said.

The employees then heard a gunshot and the man ran across the street, where he was found suffering a gunshot wound to his upper body a short time later.

The man was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening, police said. They’re investigating the possibility that the victim may have shot himself, but have not yet made a determination.
