Man Suffers Major Injuries, In Critical Condition After I-80 Wreck

BREAKING: The motorist reportedly struck a tractor-trailer on the shoulder of freeway, CHP said.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA – A Vacaville man suffered major injuries when his vehicle crashed into a parked tractor-trailer off the shoulder of Interstate Highway 80 in Vacaville early this morning.

Evan Kincade, 26, was driving a 2010 Honda Civic west on Highway 80 east of Leisure Town Road around 1:25 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.

The Honda drove off the north shoulder and struck the rear of the parked tractor-trailer occupied by Brian Hilliard, 46, of Sacramento, the CHP said.

Kincade is in critical condition at Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center, and Hilliard was not injured, the CHP said.

The crash shut down the No. 4 and 5 lanes of the highway for 90 minutes. The cause is still under investigation, the CHP said.
