• Dixon Fire Department Douses Area Blaze (independentvoice.com) — A late-night house fire near Tremont Elementary on Manning Way brought a major response from Dixon Fire and neighboring departments, but everyone inside got out safely. Crews knocked down the second-story blaze in about 17 minutes, stayed for hours to prevent flare-ups, and the cause is considered non-suspicious. Displaced residents received emergency aid from the Red Cross and California Fire Foundation.

• 'I stand with the Minions': Dixon Cool Patch display sparks debate (thereporter.com) — Cool Patch Pumpkins' famous hay-bale Minions along I-80 in Dixon have become the center of a Solano County dispute over freeway signage and traffic safety. The farm's owner is resisting county pressure to remove them, while Vacaville's mayor and Dixon's mayor voice support as part of a broader debate over how local government treats small agricultural businesses.
