No Burn Order Issued for Dixon

Fine particles in wood smoke can penetrate deep into lungs, causing problems for people with asthma or other respiratory disorders.

Solano and Yolo counties are under a “no-burn” order Tuesday and Wednesday, meaning indoor fireplace use and outdoor wood burning will be prohibited due to pollution concerns.

The Solano-Yolo Air Quality Management District issued the order for all residences in Yolo County and the northeast portion of Solano County, including Vacaville, Dixon and Rio Vista.

The order excludes homes where there is no other source of heat.
