Pregnant Woman, Man, Escape Overturned Car

Two people, including a pregnant female, escaped injury early Sunday morning in Dixon, when their vehicle struck a tree along Interstate Highway 80.

At 2:52 a.m., California Highway Patrol officers responded to a vehicular crash that happened in the highway’s eastbound lanes, just west of the Dixon Avenue West off-ramp, according to CHP officials.

The vehicle had flipped over and landed on its side after striking a tree, the CHP said.

A number of vehicles stopped to help the two people. Both the male and female victims were able to safely get out of the vehicle and did not sustain any major injuries.

The CHP is investigating the incident.
