Tattoos Lead Cops To Security-Camera Theft Suspect
Police said the man tried covering his face with a motorcycle helmet, but they recognized him from tattoos caught on video footage.
VACAVILLE, CA – After reviewing security-camera footage following a theft at a Vacaville chiropractor's office, police said they were able to identify a suspect, with whom they were familiar, from his tattoos, despite the fact he wore a motorcycle helmet covering his face.
Tyler Riggleman, 29, of Vacaville, was arrested during a traffic stop Friday in connection with the Thursday theft of $1,200 worth of security cameras from the business, the Vacaville Police Department said.
"Four Ring security cameras, valued at $1,200 were stolen during the night, but not before capturing footage of the thief," police said. "Though the suspect attempted to conceal his identity with a motorcycle helmet, parts of his face were still visible, as well as distinctive tattoos."

Riggleman was arrested on suspicion of grand theft, committing a felony while out on bail, plus nine outstanding warrants stemming from prior cases regarding theft, narcotics and the possession of stolen property, police said.
"The quality and affordability of video surveillance systems has greatly increased over the past few years, and their increasing popularity has provided us with excellent footage that has helped us identify and apprehend many suspects," the department said.
