“An ideal candidate for a Healthier Living program lay leader is an adult who has a chronic disease and/or who cares for someone with a chronic condition. He or she should feel comfortable leading group discussions, be committed to helping other people and enthusiastic about facilitating workshops,” saidDianna Gonzalez, Area Agency on Aging Healthier Living workshops coordinator. “No prior medical or teaching background is needed as leaders will be using the highly acclaimed ‘Healthier Living’ curriculum developed by Stanford University.”
Healthier Living workshops have been offered throughout Solano County since 2012.
