Way To Go, Dixon PD! Man Gets Back Packages Swiped From Porch

A Dixon resident who showed police recent surveillance video of what appeared to be a female taking two packages from his front porch had the items returned to him this week.

The man said the boxes were delivered Saturday by the U.S. Postal Service and apparently taken that day by an unidentified woman, whose image appeared on his home-surveillance cameras.

A Dixon police officer saw a car, that seemed to match the one in the photo, parked in a driveway, knocked on the residence’s door and spoke to a woman, who allegedly acknowledged taking the items, but said she was asked to pick them up for her aunt, said the Dixon resident.

The man said the items were handed over to the officer and returned to him.

“Good police work trying to help out a citizen,” he added.
