Fiery Solo Crash Kills 2 In Dublin: DPS

Two men were killed after their car struck a tree and pole on Dougherty Road Tuesday night, authorities said.

DUBLIN, CA — Two men were killed in Dublin Tuesday night after their car crashed into a tree and pole, caught fire, and split into two, according to Captain Gurvinder Gosal of Dublin Police Services.

The crash occurred at about 10:30 p.m. on Dougherty Road near Fall Creek Road, near the San Ramon border.

Firefighters arrived to find a BMW M3 fully engulfed in flames, according to The San Francisco Chronicle. Dublin police say an ongoing Traffic Unit investigation shows that excessive speed appeared to have been a factor in the crash.

Police said an investigation determined the victims were a 25-year-old male driver and an unknown passenger, who were found deceased. Both victims are believed to be San Ramon Residents.

A long stretch of Dougherty Road was closed Tuesday night following the investigation.
