• New York Times gaming engineer gunned down by in-laws, police say (kxan.com) — A 40-year-old Dublin resident, New York Times gaming engineering head Jonathan McKinsey, was fatally shot Saturday afternoon in the Dublin Sports Grounds parking lot across from the police station. Police quickly arrested his in-laws, who now face first-degree murder and child endangerment charges and are being held without bail. Investigators have not yet announced a motive, though prior domestic violence reports are noted in court records.
   

• Slain 'New York Times' exec Jonathan McKinsey was 'rageful' and 'dangerous to his family,' accused killer in-laws' lawyer says (newsbreak.com) — Following the fatal shooting of New York Times executive Jonathan McKinsey in a Northern California parking lot, his in-laws' attorney is portraying him as violently abusive toward his Dublin-based family. The lawyer cites past domestic violence and child abuse allegations as potential elements of the defense while the grandparents face murder charges with special circumstances. McKinsey's wife remains in Dublin, described as in "survival mode."
