Relay for Life's Kick-Off Rally

Ashley Hedt, Rebecca Hoffman, and Cassidy Hearne, are just a few of Dublin Relay for Life's members and chairpersons, who invite you to attend Dublin Relay for Life's Kick-Off Rally on January 17, at 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the food pavilion.

This is an open house style event and dinner will be served.

Ashley, Rebecca and Cassidy are all Girl Scout Cadettes and have committed themselves to volunteering for their local Relay for Life as part of their effort to educate the community and raise awareness of cancer and how to fight back.

Each girl has a personal reason for donating their time and energy in ensuring the success of Dublin's Relay for Life. Ashley lost her mother to cancer when she was only three years old; Rebecca has lost a grandfather; Cassidy's Aunt has survived cancer, but has lost an Uncle, and all three girls have friends that have been touched and affected by cancer, either as caregivers, or cancer patients themselves.

As volunteers, these girls will be co-chairing the Luminaria portion of Relay, along with organizing and handling Relay's needs for recycling at the event scheduled for May 19 and 20, 2012, at Wells Middle School.

Additionally, the girls will hold a food drive to collect canned food items to use as weights during the Luminaria show. When the relay is over, these Girl Scouts will donate all canned items collected and used at Luminaria to a local food bank.

Ashley, Rebecca and Cassidy will be undertaking efforts to educate their community on cancer through their work with Relay for Life. You can, too. Come join them on January 17th to sign up for Relay for Life on May 19th and 20th and fight back!
