I have been told by candidates that I support for Dublin City Council and the Dublin Unified School Board that they have received a tremendous amount of backlash for accepting my personal $100 campaign contribution. The candidates that I am not supporting are telling the community that I am a “developer” and blowing my small $100 contribution way out of proportion. I could not leave these attacks on the candidates I support unchallenged.
I am a resident of Dublin and have been for over 59 years since my parents moved us here from San Diego in 1959. I graduated from San Jose State University, married my Dublin High School sweetheart and we raised our two boys here. I am an employee of a homebuilding company in San Ramon that builds housing throughout Northern California, including the City of Dublin. This is my profession, but that doesn’t make me personally a “developer”. Anyway, I am proud of working in the homebuilding business and providing one of the top necessities in life – “shelter”.
Bottom line, I am a resident of the City of Dublin. I helped form Dublin Partners in Education over 24-years ago, I coached Dublin Little League for 18-years, I served on the Dublin Little League Baseball Board of Directors, I raised over $250,000 for the Dublin Little League through personally running their business sponsorship program, I coached Dublin High School freshman and JV baseball for 2-years, I have been a member of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce for 33-years and also spent time as a Board of Director for the Chamber, and I served in Dublin Rotary for over 10-years. I love Dublin and I take offense to those candidates that I do not support using my $100 campaign contribution like it is something bad.

In 1983 I made a run for a seat on the Dublin City Council, so I know what it costs to run a local campaign. I wish that I could have afforded to give each of the candidates I support more than $100!
I ask the City of Dublin community to support David Haubert for Mayor, Doreen Wehrenberg and Melissa Strah for City Council, and Amy Miller, Dan Cunningham, Sameer Hakim and Joe Giannini for the Dublin Unified School Board.
