Aditya Babu, who coached youth volleyball in several Tri-Valley cities, was arrested Wednesday in Dublin.
DUBLIN, CA — A youth volleyball coach was arrested Wednesday in Dublin on suspicion of possessing child sexual abuse material, according to Dublin Police Services.
DPS said it received multiple cyber-tips regarding Aditya Babu submitted by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. DPS said its detectives determined in a subsequent investigation that one of Babu’s Google accounts contained multiple images of confirmed CSAM.
He was taken into custody at the parking lot of Pleasanton Middle School while en route to coach volleyball. He has since posted bail and was no longer in custody as of Friday afternoon, police said.

The city of Pleasanton released a statement Friday confirming that Babu was employed as an independent contractor with the city’s Library and Recreation Department. The city said that it is in the process of terminating his contract and taking steps to ensure he has no further involvement in city recreation activities.
The city also said that the Pleasanton Police Department has no information indicating any crimes related to the investigation occurred within the city. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dublin Police Services Sgt. John White at 925-833-6670.
Babu has not been formally charged by the District Attorney’s Office as of Friday, and further investigation is needed before any charging decision is made. DPS said it seized dozens of electronic devices that are pending forensic examination. Police said they are releasing the information before charges were filed due to Babu’s association with youth through his coaching activities.
