“We
are an organization that provides indispensable services to our
community. In order to accomplish this high level of service, we will
utilize these outstanding citizens. Senior volunteer efforts free up both
uniformed and non-uniformed members of the Department to concentrate on their
core duties,” said
Captain Christopher Sherry. “I am excited to work with this diverse
group of caring citizens to help save lives and improve departmental
efficiency.”

The objectives of the CHP’s Senior Volunteer Program are to provide enhanced public service to the community while providing an opportunity for citizens to make a definitive contributions toward improving public safety. Particp-ating volunteers will achieve an understanding and appreciation of the criminal justice system, enhancing public trust, and ethics in the field of law enforcement.
