DAC Holiday Art Boutique Returns to KeyPoint Credit Union Dublin

Banking and Arts nonprofit partnership brings a unique art shopping experience to the City of Dublin

The Dublin Arts Collective (DAC), in partnership with KeyPoint Credit Union, organized a unique festive art shopping experience for the Tri-Valley community that provided an opportunity to shop local, directly from artists. The Holiday Art Boutique experience returned this year after a break last year.

"The DAC has amazing artists producing unbelievable artwork," said Angela Season. "it's an honor to partner with them and I am so proud to be a part of this creative community. We expect to have many future collaborations providing engaging events in Dublin."

Event organizers, DAC Co-Founders Sawsan Wolski and Vanessa Thomas were delighted with the variety of works on display this year. Participating artists included Meghana Mitragotri, Alka Vaidya, Leslie Hammer, Chris Tafoya, Parul Parekh, Marina Gladchenko, Amy Greenberg, Shweta Agrawal, Tejal Shah, Chandana Srinath, Buffy Davis, Lee Britton and the Lapis Lazuli Art Club.

Artists had original artworks for sale including watercolor and acrylic paintings, resin art, limited edition prints, photographs, digital art, dream catchers, crystal and gemstone art, candles and hand painted ornaments. This year also featured braille cards and a vintage jewelry collection.

"KeyPoint Credit Union has been a phenomenal and accommodating host and sponsor and the light-filled venue provided a wonderful backdrop to showcase the art," said Sawsan Wolski who is also DAC President and an Alameda County Arts Commissioner.

New participants this year were teenage artists from Lapis Lazuli Art Club who hand painted and donated canvas bags to assist in raising funds for the DAC. The DAC is an independent volunteer-run nonprofit and the Holiday Art Boutique was their main fundraising event this year.

"It's truly rewarding to bring visibility to artists and creatives through these events and we had participation from Fremont, Berkeley, San Ramon, Pleasanton, Livermore and Dublin. The DAC aims to raise awareness of the need for a dedicated space for the arts, especially the visual arts in Dublin and we are excited that the City of Dublin is continuing its Cultural Arts Center development. The DAC is also currently participating in regional discussions initiated by the Alameda County Art Commission (ACAC)" said Vanessa Thomas (an Alameda County Arts Leadership Award Recipient for 2021).

The ACAC is hosting these monthly meetings so that the Alameda County Arts Commission and leaders of City-level arts organizations in Alameda County can gather together and share information. This is an opportunity to communicate information about City, County and State level arts advocacy and other opportunities that may be helpful to participating organizations.

The KeyPoint location is also serving as a collection point for Toys for Tots through December in addition to a diaper drop off until Christmas for those in need this holiday season. The public is welcome to stop by to make a donation.
