Daytime 'Luau Dance' Held for Students with Disabilities
The students participated in skill centers and were able to help DJ the music.
Students with disabilities at Dublin High School enjoyed a special "Luau Dance" on during the day on May 10.
According to Peter Dragula, a teacher for the Special Day class at Dublin High, the dance was held during the day for the students because due to the their disabilities, they are usually not able to attend the general education dances, which are held after school.
"This year we set up skill centers, demonstration of our bicycle program and had students DJ the music throughout," Dragula said. "Dublin High's goal is to model opportunities for students with disabilities to other schools and parents, so they can see what is possible."
Dragula says four other districits attended the Luau Dance.
