Robotics Team Organizes Holiday Gift-Wrapping, STEM Demonstration

Teens from a local robotics team raised hundreds of dollars for their club through wrapping presents and robotics demonstrations.

DUBLIN, CA — Two Dublin High School freshmen helped $670 for their robotics team before Christmas through a STEM demonstration and gift-wrapping fundraiser.

On Dec. 23 and 24, Adi Jain and Saketh Parimi and members of their robotics team, FIRST Robotics Competition Team #9125, set up shop outside San Francisco Premium Outlets in Livermore, where they demonstrated robot-building basics, 3D printing, Snap Circuits and an RGB Matrix board powered by Raspberry Pi. Their demonstrations attracted over 50 children. The team also wrapped over 100 gifts, which raised $670 for their team.

The funds will be used to help Team #9125 build a robot for the FIRST Robotics Competition, which will take place in March.

“It was a great learning experience from planning to executing the campaign with our team members,” Adi and Saketh said. “We had just 3 weeks to plan all the activities and learn how to wrap gifts amidst preparing for our final exams but it was fun and engaging throughout. We want to say thank you to the SF Premium Outlets for giving us this opportunity. We hope to be back again with a bigger, better robot next time.”
