Dublin Accepting Nominations For 2023 Citizens Of The Year

DUBLIN, CA — The City of Dublin is accepting nominations for the 2023 Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year (awarded to anyone in grades 1-12), and Organization of the Year. The deadline for nominations is Friday, Jan. 12 at 5 p.m.

The awards recognize anyone who has made significant contributions to Dublin life. Any person or organization that has won before is not eligible for the three years following their win. Anyone who was nominated but did not win can be nominated again.

Winners of the Citizen of the Year and Young Citizen of the Year will win $300 to donate to the nonprofit of their choice, while the Organization of the Year will win $500. The other two finalists in each category will be awarded $200 each.

The mayor will also select recipients of the Mayor’s Award (outstanding work over the past year) and the Mayor’s Legacy Award (outstanding work done over a long period of time.)

Winners will be announced at an event at the Shannon Community Center on Feb. 21 at 6 p.m.
