Dublin Businesses May Expand Outdoors, City Says

Dining, retail and fitness business may temporarily apply to serve customers outdoors.

DUBLIN, CA — Dublin businesses may temporarily expand into outdoor areas to more safely serve customers during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Dublin City Council decided Tuesday to waive some zoning ordinance requirements, allowing outdoor business operations, the city said. On Friday, Alameda County will allow outdoor dining, retail and fitness businesses to begin serving customers.

Businesses wishing to operate outdoor may apply for a no-cost waiver, the city said. City staff will review applications sent to permits@dublin.ca.gov within 48 hours.
