Dublin Curry Cook-Off Canceled, Kickball Tournament Still On

The city canceled the curry cook-off of Saturday's Backyard Block Party due to "unforeseen circumstances."

DUBLIN, CA — Dublin has canceled the curry cook-off portion of Saturday's Backyard Block Party due to “unforeseen circumstances.” Patch reached out to the city for further details, but none were provided.

Anyone who purchased a ticket to sample different curries and vote for their favorite will be reimbursed, the city said.

The Block Party will still include a kickball tournament, food trucks, and a family fun zone with yard games, bounce houses, face painting and more. The day's schedule will be as follows:

  • 10 a.m.: Kickball team check-in
  • 10:30: Play begins
  • 11 a.m.: Block party begins
  • 3 p.m.: Block party ends
  • 3:30: Championship kickball game
