Dublin High Student Scoops CNN On Its Iowa Poll
Arjav Rawal, 18, beat everyone to publishing the results after he correctly guessed the poll's URL on the CNN website.
DUBLIN, CA — How did an 18-year-old Dublin High School student scoop CNN and The Des Moines Register on their much-anticipated poll to measure Democratic candidates in battleground state Iowa?
Arjav Rawal figured out the URL based on past polls and posted the results on Twitter.
“URL manipulation is what I do, and I’ve been able to get really good at it because, with websites like CNN and Fox, all the file names follow a pattern," he told The New York Times.

Rawal, who is apparently not a fan of CNN's on-screen personalities, told the San Francisco Chronicle that the leak aimed to make CNN look incompetent. He's leaked polls early twice before.
Rawal said he's previously spoken with The Register, which has since upped security to safeguard its results.
