Dublin To Light Tree Thursday
Dubliners will brave the rain for a Holiday Tree Lighting and Winter Wonderland Thursday evening at the Civic Center.

DUBLIN, CA - It’s the most wonderful time of the year in Dublin, and the Civic Center is turning into a winter wonderland. On Thursday, Dec. 1, the Civic Center parking lot will be decked out in twinkling, multi-colored lights, and filled with food trucks and a variety of multicultural entertainment ahead of the 39th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting.
Starting at 5 p.m., visitors will be able to enjoy a Bollywood dance performance, a Chinese dance group, and performances from the Stratford School, Quarry Lane School, Radiance Ballet and more.
The lighting of a new 28-foot tree will take place near the Civic Center clock tower at 7 p.m., and rumor has it Santa Claus may be there to watch.

If anyone misses Santa Claus, they can catch up with him two days later on Dec. 3, when he will make appearances at a pancake breakfast at the Shannon Community Center. Visitors will have the chance to take photos with Santa Claus and enjoy pancakes, sausage, fruit, coffee and juice. Santa will appear at 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. The cost of the breakfast is $15 per resident and $18 per non-resident.
Registration is also open until Dec. 9 for the “Deck the Homes” Holiday Home Decorating Contest, which will present awards in a number of categories to the best-decorated homes.

Tree lightings are also planned Dec. 3 in San Ramon, Dec. 3 in Pleasanton, and Dec. 3 in Livermore.
