Dublin Plans To Hire Individuals With Developmental Disabilities

DUBLIN, CA — The City of Dublin announced that it is working to hire 15 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities on its staff through WIN for All (Workforce Inclusion Network.)

The city is working with Futures Explored, a Concord-based organization that advocates for people with disabilities throughout the Bay Area. The city is looking to hire 15 people over the next 18 months, with a particular focus on positions in the Parks and Community Services Department, including The Wave. Many of the positions will be part-time, entry-level and seasonal.

Applicants will go through the typical procedures of applying, then being interviewed and trained. Futures Explored will provide a two-hour training to city staff and supervisors on strategies for working with individuals with disabilities, and four additional hours a quarter to answer questions.
