Dublin Protest Planned Sunday: Where They Will Be, And What They Are Protesting
Members of the Dubliners United community group vow to demonstrate weekly.
DUBLIN, CA — For the fourth weekend in a row, about 50-75 residents, who are members of the Dubliners United community group, say they plan to protest in Dublin to help raise awareness about Dublin’s school overcrowding issue to potential home buyers. They say they want the developers to pay more of the costs associated with the new schools, including a second Dublin High School.
The group will be demonstrating at the intersection of Santa Rita/ Tassajara Road and Dublin Boulevard between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday.
The group first gathered along Dublin Boulevard near the Dublin Crossings development on June 4 and met again at other locations in the city on June 11 and June 17. The protests began after Dublin Councilman Abe Gupta addressed the community in a letter and called upon the city council, mayor and school board to answer questions about the use of Measure H funds.
