Dublin Schools' Truancy Rate Well Below State Average
Highest rates are at Valley Continuation High and Frederiksen Elementary. What should educators do to tackle this issue?

About 15 percent of Dublin Unified students were reported as truant during the past school year, according to information released by the state superintendent's office.
The district's truancy rate is well below both the state average and the county average.
Truancy is defined as any student who misses 30 minutes or more of class time without a valid excuse at least three times in one school year.

The highest rate in the district was found at Valley Continuation High with 27 percent.
The next highest was Frederiksen Elementary at 21 percent.

Dublin High School was listed as just under 15 percent.
All the other schools in the district were between 10 and 20 percent.
