E. Coli, Coliform Found In Dublin Water Last Week, DSRSD Says
"This is not a consistent problem," says Operations Manager Jeff Carson, "and the drinking water is clean and safe to drink."

DUBLIN, CA — Water samples taken from two locations in Dublin on Aug. 1 tested positive for both coliform and E. coli, Dublin San Ramon Services District officials said. The samples were taken from a location on Scarlett Court and Asterwood Drive.
“Water operators flushed the system at the two locations,” water district officials said. “Then they resampled the original sites and took five samples upstream and five samples downstream at both locations. Thursday afternoon, all subsequent samples were clean.”
The next day, water taken from a location on Central Parkway also tested positive for coliform.

“Again, water operators resampled at the original site, taking five samples upstream and five samples downstream and flushed the system,” water district officials said. “Thursday evening, all subsequent samples were clean.”
Water district officials said the chlorine residual was found to be low in all three of the locations where the water tested positive for the bacteria. Samples are collected every Tuesday, which generally provides the district with 92 samples per month.
