For his Eagle Scout project, he created sensory walls to benefit special needs students at John Green Elementary School

Atharva Sharma has qualified to become an Eagle Scout and will receive the award at a Eagle Scout Court of Honor in the future. Arthava is the son of Jyoti Sharma & Rahul Sharma of Dublin, Ca.

He is a member of Troop 941, sponsored by the VFW Post 6298. Thanks go to his Scoutmaster, Patrick Markel, for his dedication to scouting and help along the way.

Atharva has been active in Scouting and has held leadership positions as Patrol Leader, Instructor and Den Chief in his troop. His favorite parts about scouting include the life skills I have acquired, my connections, and, most importantly, the morals instilled in my character.

For his Eagle Scout project, he created sensory walls to benefit special needs students at John Green Elementary School. These sensory walls were designed to enhance the learning environment by incorporating tactile and interactive elements that stimulated the students' senses, making engaging and participating in classroom activities easier. Each wall measured 4 ft x 4 ft and featured a variety of textures, shapes, and colors, all carefully selected to address the unique needs of students with sensory processing challenges.

Atharva is a junior at Dublin High School. He is the founder of NPO SensoryWall.org, member of Dublin Mayors Council and a board member of the Indian Student Association.

He plans to attend a prestigious and balanced university and do great things there, living up to what it means to be an Eagle Scout. He aspires to work in the technology field. Although he has not chosen a particular path, AI has been his key point of interest.

To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, a Scout must be active in their troop, provide leadership, earn 21 merit badges including the areas of citizenship, camping, communications, cooking and lifesaving or emergency preparedness as well as demonstrate that they live by the principles of the Scout Oath and the Scout Law. They must also plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project benefiting a religious institution, school, or community group.

Anyone interested in joining any level of Scouting can contact the Twin Valley District Executive, Elijah Gonzles, elijah.gonzales@scouting.org.
