East Bay Firefighters Deployed to Help Battle Colemen Fire: Photos
Fire officials shared photos as they headed out to help fight the Monterey County blaze.
Firefighters from the Alameda County, Fremont, and Hayward Fire Departments were sent this week to help with the firefighting efforts in Monterey County.
The wildfire was reported near King City Saturday afternoon, according to fire officials. As of Tuesday morning, the fire has grown to 2,340 acres and is about 15 percent contained.

"Two Strike Teams from Alameda County, XAL 2001C and OES XAL 2870C, comprised of firefighters from the Alameda County, Hayward and Fremont Fire Departments were deployed to the Coleman Fire on the night of June 4th and arrived safely the next morning," Alameda County Fire fire officials said via Twitter.
Fire season has taken California by storm amid the first major heat wave of the summer season. Temperatures across the state hit triple-digits over the weekend.

In Southern California, fire crews continue to battle fires in Calabasas and Temecula.
The Calabasas fire prompted evacuations as it consumed 516 acres of brush, caused minor damage to two homes and destroyed a commercial structure, a fire official said. Three firefighters suffered minor injuries battling the blaze.

The Temecula fire was originally reported at 15 acres, but it quickly spread, shutting down the I-15 Saturday morning. The blaze was near a fire in Pala, at the northern edge of San Diego County.
